BAROSSA BOXER Wines!

The market for Aussie wines in the US has not been great recently.  There have been far too many lower end wines exported to the US.  These wines, often referred to as "critter" wines due to the funny creatures on their labels, have seemingly created a mindset that equates Australian wine with cheap wine. However, there also happens to be plenty of highly rated wines on the market too. Unfortunately many of these have come to be regarded simply as over the top - huge fruit bombs that are too high in alcohol, over-extracted, over-oaked, and over-priced.  We thought it would be a great idea to bring in some well made, well priced wines, that truly reflected the terrior of the southern Barossa Valley.  We have developed a new brand and have created some nice wines that retail well under $20.  Of course we had no idea that the economy would turn the way it has, nor could we predict that so many others would drop their proverbial pants and follow us into this price category.  None the less, we have launched our Barossa Boxer brand, named after Kym's other passion, his Boxer hounds Dogs not critters!).  These wines join the Jenke Vineyards brand, as sustainably farmed and estate produced wines, hand crafted by Kym Jenke.  Our Barossa Boxer Chardonnay, which has just received an 89 point rating from Wine Spectator, is a wonderfully clean, crisp chardonnay, which is fermented in stainless steel to allow the wonderful fresh fruit character to shine.  Our Barossa Boxer Shiraz is distinctively Barossa, showing some beautiful fruit, subtle spice and well integrated tannins.  It is aged in American oak for 7 months and bottled unfiltered and unfined.  We hope you will enjoy Kym's latest efforts.  Cheers!
